I can hardly believe it. All of those months of planning and the day has come and gone. It was incredible. I honestly wish I could do it all over again. I’m so glad I’m not one of those people who regretted having a wedding. I know the planning can be a bit overwhelming at times but it’s completely worth it.
I opted for a smaller wedding. About 75 people, in the end after the inevitable no shows (which is a whole other blog all on it’s own!) – it was perfectly intimate but big enough to have a great party. In previous blogs I sang the praises of my wedding planner and I still am! Sava at Two Be Wed was amazing. I could not imagine trying to do this without her. She was remarkable. Nothing phased her. When people were rude or disrespectful, she handled it with a smile. She made every single element of the ceremony and reception more than we could have ever dreamed. Sava treated me and Chris, as well as my family, as if we were her family. Taking such good care of us. If you’re in Houston, don’t even bother putting together your wedding without Sava or Two Be Wed. Save yourself the stress of planning your own wedding and leave it to the professionals!
From the romantically lit ceremony to the music driven reception, thanks to Plush Party Band of Austin, complete with a confetti cannon… it was the ultimate celebration!
People have asked me, where do I think it’s worth spending the money when it comes to your wedding. Aside from a wedding planner (two months prior to the big day at least), don’t pinch pennies when it comes to a photographer, videographer, hair stylist and make-up artist. Those are the most important things you can have in my opinion. The flowers and everything else are wonderful to have but you can find ways to save money on all of those things. The way you look and feel, along with the memories you’ll be able to cherish through videos and photos, are priceless. I was fortunate to have the amazing Allmon Brothers Media capture my wedding day from start to finish and the always wonderful Stacy Felan Photography got some of the most beautiful photos!
Now with all of this, I can relive every special moment from December 15, 2017 for the rest of my life. The moments I shared with some of my best friends and family, the fun, laughter and tears of happiness. Then the moment I married my best friend. Take a look below at some of the highlights, including our wedding video teaser!
