I am fortunate to have some of the most incredible friends ever on both sides of the pond. Before Hurricane Harvey happened and I was still “home” in the UK, my closest friends in the UK threw me an amazing Hen Do party! We started the night pretty refined at the Mandarin Oriental for cocktails, then made our way to dinner. This was quite the experience! We actually went to a comedy burlesque show. If you want to laugh and do something out of the ordinary, I highly recommend this. If you’re shy and don’t like getting on stage, this isn’t for you. It’s a small room and the chances of you ended up on stage with the Master of Ceremonies is about 100%!
From there we made our way to a cheesy club where we danced the night away! But we weren’t finished. Our feet couldn’t deal with walking (or it was probably just mine) so we jumped in a few Tuk Tuk’s and had them take us to the first pizza place we could find. I mean, what’s a night out without two dinners!

Next we have the Bachelorette Party. Like many Hen Parties, sometimes it becomes a weekend getaway! I couldn’t have dreamed up a better way to celebrate my upcoming married than these two parties.
My American girls went all out. We went to a little town called Waco about 3 hours north of Houston. For anyone who is a fan of the show “Fixer Upper”, you will know that Chip and Joanna Gaines have put this little college town on the map!
We stayed in a little town outside of Waco called West, which happens to be one of the Czech towns in Texas. That was a cool experience because I’m Czech and had never been up there. West is a “blink and you’ll miss it” sort of town. We stayed in the most incredible 5 bedroom home! Check it out here on Airbnb, but the pictures don’t do it justice!
All 9 of us arrived on a Friday and we played cheesy, hilarious games and then went out to a couple small town Texas bars to stir up trouble. We had so much fun! The next morning we woke up and went to Magnolia Market and the Silos, the brainchild of Chip and Joanna. It was packed! Thousands of people visit the Silos every day and that Saturday was no exception! After that we had lunch before heading to the blow dry bar for all of us to get pretty for the night ahead. Finishing our afternoon at a wine bar we then headed home to get ready for the evening. The girls took me to an awesome steak restaurant outside of Waco and then a night of dancing at a local bar. A bachelorette party weekend would not be complete without a Lingerie party. As I packed up my things, the girls prepared for a champagne brunch which was delicious! I was then showered with lingerie! I’m pretty sure this part is actually for Chris!

So who wins in the end? The Hen do or the Bachelorette party? The bride is definitely the winner of this competition! I realized very quickly I’m the most blessed girl on the planet. I’m marrying the most incredible man and had the most incredible friends to celebrate with on both sides of the Atlantic. 35 days and counting!
